We are organising a Christmas bash for GTOUK members. The details have still to be finalised but a proposed itinerary follows...

Summary of Event

Date: Saturday November 24th

The plan I have is to go to a motor meusum in Coventry. It's very nice and has a lot of history to go with it and also Thrust 2 is there. For those who don't know, it held the land speed record for a long time. It takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours to get round - it's very big and is good entertainment for both males and females.

Then off to Super Bowls in Leamington Spa. We should be there for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

Then a nice big convoy back to Banbury to a pub we used on one of our previous meetings where you can eat as much as you want for about £7.00. We can have a good meal and a good chat etc.

Then it's up to you .

You can either say your goodnights and have a safe ride home OR as some people want to go on the p--s we can then go down town where there plenty of pubs and also 3 night clubs.

Then in the morning when you have all got some clear heads we can have a midday coffee and photo shoot.

For those who wish to stop over, the hotel I propose using is the Cromwell hotel in the centre of Banbury.

The normal cost of the rooms are £90 each but I have got them down to £70 and believe me, that's not bad for around here. That's £70 for a double or a twin, a single would be £50. So hopefully there may be a few lads that don't mind sharing. The reason I went for this hotel is because it is in the centre of the town and when a few of you are totally s....faced you will appreciate the short walking distance! :-)

The restaurant is the same as we used before on a previous meeting - it's called the Blacklock Arms and is on the edge of town. They do a carvery and a small variety of other meals including veggies. The reason I have picked this is a)for those that are only staying for the day they can go up one road and straight on to the M40, b) the meal will cost about £7 each so it would give us more money for the rest of the days activities.

Also please let me know if you are up for the bowling or the meal (or both) so I can book you in. Again, please do this ASAP!

It has been proposed that Gold members will benefit from FREE bowling, so once again we are trying to provide value to members who join the club (if you want to become a gold member, simply click on the "Join GTOUK" link at the top of the page).

I will give all the relevant details of meeting places and time in the near future. I just need to get these bookings sorted out straight away.

UPDATE FROM GAZZA (20/11/01)...

Right then Mark Van ,Carina , Mark S and paula will be at my house first thing on Saturday so if Paul ,Nicky ,Ewan ,Simon B and Simon E can arrange to meet up first then come to my house at middleton cheney junction 11 m40 (some of you have been there before ), so say around 12 to 12.15. (Gazza's address is 44 Horton Rd, Middleton Cheney - on line map can be found here).

Then we can have a nice convoy up the motorway to meet Pete ,Jill and Jamie at junction 15 at 12.45 at the Holiday inn pub where we met for the last meeting .We then have a cup of tea and a slice of cake before we set off to Coventry about 1.30 .We should arrive at Coventry about 2.15 It takes around 1 1/2 to 2 hours to see everything ,We will then meet at the adjacent car park at 4.30.Then Its off to leamington for the bowling We should get there for about 5 ish .The lanes are booked for 5.30 this should take aroung 1 1/2 hours to complete then we get changed there and then off to Banbury for a meal . The meal is booked for 7.45 and we should be finnished approximately 8.30 .After the meal I will then show all those who are staying where there hotel is .Then its off around the town and then to do some hip shaking at the local club .The night club has 2 floors we will be going to the top floor because thats where we can here some decent BEEGEE's and some Tamla Motown .The club will not let you up to the second floor with jeans or trainers so please dress casual but tidy .

Then for the next day we will have a photo of all the cars and then back home to sort out our hangovers
