Japanese Auto & Performance Show
(JAPS 2003)

Saturday/Sunday 28th & 29th June 2003

Thoresby Hall, Ollerton, North Nottinghamshire

The date for this year's annual Japanese Auto Performance Show has been set. We will be attending both days and are hoping for another massive turnout.

This is the third year this event has been run and it's a great opportunity to meet some of the members from the midlands and northern regions. We even had one guy drive all the way down from Inverness last year so you've got no excuse wherever you live! ;-)

Various members will be camping over on the Saturday night so there will be plenty of evening "socialising" going on. If you can't make the whole weekend then just come on either the Saturday or Sunday and soak up the atmosphere. There is also a bistro and art gallery at Thoresby Hall should you fancy some proper nosh and a bit of culture. There will be the usual array of burger vans should you fancy a quick bite during the day. Last year we had a BBQ to cook some grub in the evening and for breakfast, hopefully we can arrange for this to put in an appearance again (it seems to have evolved it's own lifeforms over the last couple of years so we'll have to promise not to use any harsh cleaners on it!).

For those that don't know, JAPS is basically a show'n'shine event for owners of any Japanese car. The organisers will be presenting trophies for the best example of each car in each club so make sure you give your car a good wash and polish if you fancy your chances. There will be numerous clubs in attendance and various auto-jumbles, stalls and a bar.

Thoresby Park is located off the A614 in Nottinghamshire. For a map showing the location of Thoresby Park please click here (look for the arrow!). The easiet way to get to it is probably via the M1.

Entry is £6 per person for the whole weekend and if you intend to camp on the Saturday night it will cost an extra £5 per tent/caravan. There are various hotels in the area if you don't fancy slumming it.

Full members will have their £6 admission fee refunded (limited to one person) on presentation of your membership card to a committee member (this may be in the form of a cheque via the post).

The weather last year was fantastic so make sure you bring some sun-block as well as a brolly (you never know!). We will have the club gazebo there to provide shelter from the elements should it rain or shine.
