JAE 2003

26th & 27th July 2003

Billing Aquadrome, Billing, Nr. Northampton.

Once again, we broke all records with 53 GTO's counted at one point and we still managed to fill the stand despite having more room this year (although it is fair to say we were not parked as tightly as we were last year, so we had a bit more breathing space). Apart from a downpour on Saturday night when we sheltered in the gazebo we had pretty good weather again for most of the weekend.

The club really went to town this year with the purchase of a 3.5kW generator which powered a kettle, fridge, lights, TV (with a screening of The Fast and the Furious) and even a Playstation 2 running Gran Turismo (well it kept the kids occupied during the rain!).

Some nice cars present, and a very chilled weekend was had by all. Time to let the photo's do the speaking...

Brendan (Limahl) reprising his role as head chef!

This is little Lucy Kingham, Holly and Ewan's new born (aaaaaaah!)

Hmmm, what's so interesting?

Aha, it's John (GTOPEPS) and his flamer kit!

This kept the crowds entertained!

Everytime John revved the car people would appear from nowhere

The start of my "Max Power" style photo's (oh dear!)

See what I mean? (gisajob!)

The first time my car's been polished in years!

This is Simon Jones' GTO - the one that I fell in love with all those years ago and the one that convinced me to buy a blue mk2

Nice decals down the side - I thought the car had been keyed at first!

Nice wheels

Seem to have a few people who like jazzing up their engine bays...

...And another one!

Sulley keeping guard while Bren does another deal at the back

Flogging stuff out of his boot - Bren really is in his element! ;-)

Now this Champagne coloured GTO was sweet!

Darkened lenses and even tinted wheels to match

Attack of the clones!

Nice to see more blue GT's putting in an appearance

Luvverly jubberly! If you like GTO's this is the place to be!

Completely OTT entertainment system! It is based on a Windows XP PC with a touch sensitive screen and this photo shows it running WinAmp (although it can run all sorts of other things such as in-car navigation and also DivX movies). Very impressive until I come along and manage to crash it within 2 minutes of fiddling! The whole car had to be rebooted! lol

This is the box that powers it all, tucked away under the boot floor. Christ knows where you put the sub! ;-)

Looks like Holly has found something to eat other than Brendan's burgers!

Something to keep the kids occupied

Pete explains how to change gears on his Combine Harvester

Brendan tells one of his awful jokes

Andy re-adjusts his underpants as yet another GTO rolls into view

The GTOUK shelter opens it's doors to Ethiopian famine victims

Traci tries to count how many burgers she's had in the last hour while simultaneously stuffing her face

"Hope you've got a good handbrake!"

Dean Luxton's Kaze kitted GTO that he's finally brought across from Japan

Not to everyone's taste, but certainly an eye-catching beast!
